The PhD program in Smart Industry adopts a credit system to define the commitment required from students for each training activity and to outline the educational load for each student.

Students must acquire at least 30 CFU (University Educational Credits) over the three years of the PhD through participation in courses, seminars, and summer schools. Out of these 30 CFU, at least 8 must be obtained through participation in courses on soft skills, available at various universities, and at least 10 from the training offerings of the Smart Industry PhD program. The remaining CFU can be obtained by attending courses organized within the educational offerings of the three universities, both for master’s degrees and for doctorates.

For the academic years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 (the first two years of the PhD program’s activation), the Smart Industry training offerings referred to courses organized under the regional program Tuscany Start-up Academy, proposed by the three universities that award the joint degree for Smart Industry, and which include the professors of the PhD board. Additional courses outside the Tuscany Start-up Academy program are and will be included based on opportunities.
