Bio:

In 2019 I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering and in 2021 a master’s degree in Energetic Engineering at University of Pisa focusing on innovative storage technologies during my master thesis. I am currently a PhD student at the Department of Information Engineering (DII) at University of Pisa.

Interessi:

Innovative Energy Storage, Renewable energy integration, Machine Learning, Forecasts

Research Topic:

My research is currently focused on exploring innovative storage technologies to smartly integrate power generation from renewable energy sources. By combining deterministic optimization techniques (such as Mixed Integer Linear Programming) and Machine Learning regression algorithms, my goal is to assess the performance of innovative storages in integrating renewable energy sources compared to traditional storages.

Other Activities:

Interest in clustering techniques for diagnostic purposes. • Interest in black-box modelling and derivative-free optimization algorithm. • I took part of many international conferences focused on turbomachinery and energy systems, such as: International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE), Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water, and Environment Systems (SDEWES), International Conference on Efficiency, Cost, Optimization, Simulation and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems (ECOS). Winner of the best paper award at SIMS 2023 – Conference on Modelling and Simulation.
