Leonardo Leoni

Bio:

Leonardo Leoni is a post-doc and adjunct professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of Florence, Italy. He got his PhD in Smart Industry in 2024, jointly held by the University of Pisa, Florence, and Siena. He got his bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Florence in 2017 and 2020 respectively.

Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Predictive Maintenance, Risk and Reliability Analysis

Research Topic:

His main research topics include operations and supply chain management, lean approaches, and safety, reliability, and risk analysis of industrial equipment. He is currently investigating two main branches: i) the implementation of lean approaches in the luxury industries and ii) typical energy-saving solutions adopted in relevant economic sectors (e.g., steel, and plastic industries).

Other Activities:

He is or has been involved in the following research projects: • Researcher within the two-year project (2023-2024) in collaboration with the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) entitled: "Analysis of available technologies in three economic sectors with technical-economic assessment of the most representative solutions." • Researcher for the research agreement with CAP S.C., entitled "Innovations in the maintenance logistics system of the CAP group." (January 2023 - December 2023) • Researcher within the three-year project (2019-2021) in collaboration with the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) entitled: "Energy efficiency of products and industrial processes."
