Marco Consoloni

Industrial/Management Engineer

Marco Consoloni is a Management Engineer enrolled as a PhD. He obtained his master’s degree in management engineering in 2022 at the University of Pisa. He is a student in the Smart Industry Program at the Department of Information Engineering (DII) of the University of Pisa.

Engineering Desing, Innovation Management, New Product Development (NPD), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Multimodal Machine Learning

Research Topic:

My research activity is focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and Visual-Language (NLP) models. These computer-based approaches are used to automate the extraction of technical knowledge from both textual content and images which are contained in various technical documents such as patent documents and process manuals. I am particularly interest in studying how NLP and VL methods for information extraction can be leveraged to support engineers and designers throughout the Engineering Desing (ED) process.

Other Activities:

(October 2020 - December 2020) Assigned as a University Peer Tutor at the School of Engineering, University of Pisa. (September 2021 - January 2022) Assigned as a University Tutor for Linear Algebra at the School of Engineering, University of Pisa. (June 2023) Assigned as a Classroom Tutor for the Master’s in Scalability: Digital Technologies and Company Growth and the Master’s in Industry 4.0 Design: Enterprise Digitalization and 4.0 Technologies.
